SmartFolder for Documentum Makes Document Management Transparent
As a user-friendly application, SmartFolder was designed with the closest concern of usability and user adoption in mind. And – what’s more important – all your Documentum files are invisibly synced with neither your, nor your colleagues’ involvement. You always get the freshest files whenever a connection to Documentum is established.
Background Synchronization.
The automatic synchronization can be configured to run in a way most convenient for you – and as often as required. It can also be programmed to start whenever a connection to Documentum is restored or documents in SmartFolder are updated.
Files and Folders Metaphor. SmartFolder uses the native Windows file system to represent Documentum folders and documents.
Always Organized Structure. You no longer need to worry about keeping your documents in order. SmartFolder uses the same structure found on Documentum, making it easy to find what you need.
Shortcuts to Updates. Configure SmartFolder to create shortcuts to newly updated items so you can access the newest documents immediately.
Windows Shell Extensions. To simplify access to your corporate Documentum content, "My Documentum" links can be created from the Windows Explorer Menu "Send to" function, as well as in the dialog box "Save As" in Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003.
DropZone Widget. SmartFolder’s semi-transparent DropZone widget is always on the top of other windows, so you can send any document from any application to Documentum as simply as drag-n-drop. The DropZone widget can be placed anywhere on the desktop, snapped to the edge, or be made to disappear and automatically appear when a document is dragged toward it.
